JD Haynes, Certified Christian Therapist

Greetings, I am JD Haynes, founder and Christian Therapist of  Living Mercy Christian Counseling. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families find healing and restoration in Christ. I am first and foremost a Christian. I love people and feel called by God to help those who struggle with spiritual and emotional issues. My faith in Jesus Christ defines me. It is the foundation upon which everything else in my life is built. My Christian faith has helped me overcome many obstacles in my own life, and I am passionate about helping others find solutions to life’s challenges that are God-honoring and personally empowering.

My Goal As A Christian Therapist

I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate facilitator of healing, and in my role as a therapist I strive to let the Holy Spirit lead the process of healing. With the Spirit’s help, we’ll explore together who you are as an individual and in your relationships. We will work together to identify and tackle obstacles for your growth. Through our time together, my hope is that you will have a greater understanding of your worth; that you would experience greater healing, freedom, and intimacy with God and others; and that you would feel empowered to enter into the plans God has for you.

Qualifications & Experience

My formal training as a Christian Therapist began by attending Bible College where I majored in Divinity and Pastoral Ministries. Upon earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree,  I went on to earn three advanced degrees from Seminary:

  • Master Of Arts in Christian Education
  • Doctorate in Theology
  • Ph.D in Nouthetic Counseling

I have counseled people for over 20 years, at times working simultaneously in ministry roles and counseling practice. I have had the privilege to help people of all backgrounds and circumstances to overcome barriers to spiritual health and well-being. My call to counseling has emerged hand-in-hand with my work in Christian Ministry. Throughout my life I have felt compelled by God to help people experience freedom, purpose, and strong relationships. From my early years of ministry I came to value the integration of biblical truth, social sciences and Christian spirituality. After a number of years in ministry and after obtaining the proper formal training,  I was certified as a Christian therapist. My passion is to see people come alive, experience healing, and find community in their journey of faith.
